But, no matter. It's really not that big of a deal
to remove the fan? It takes 5 minutes to remove it.
You don't really even have to remove the shroud to
remove the fan.

Sometimes you'll try to spend 2hrs trying to figure out
a way to keep from doing 5 minutes worth of extra work.
I know I do that sometimes...
