OK, we're getting to the end of this thing. Down to the painting. It's sanded and preped and probably will primer it this afternoon.
Question: If I choose to paint it OEM (that pale yellow), where is the paint code? (opps, I'll go look at the faq now but you could tell me anyway :))
Here's a much better video of the 4runner in a bit of mud

Found paint code, the Spec sheet here told me where it was at.

Here's a funny thing, here's my paint code...
Toyota- 557- Creme

Creme?? CREME??? I don't think I want to paint it creme, I thought it was just yellow, faded from 25 years of outdoor life. Grrrr. Creme.

Thru this excellent site I found that 4runners only came in Creme in '84 and '85. The color suked that bad. :P

Hey, nice videos. I really like your front bumper. Did you fab that up yourself or purchase it somewhere?

I'm between toyotas right now... 3rd Gen 4-runner soon.

Nah, I don't have the skills or a welder, bought that from CRB off-road products.
CRB Website
It's not the fanciest bumper in the world, but it's dingin' stout and the price was right - $150. He77, I bought 3 of them for $450 (1 front, 2 rear), the price of one most of the other brands.
It came un-coated and the holes are pretty lame and I had to redrill a couple.

ok, ok.... now i'm about to have nightmares! the clips in that video are a little wacked out - like the guy getting sucked into the jet engine <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/shiner.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/barf.gif" alt="" />... I don't think he'll be around after that mistake.

Went out last night - one of the local spots that was shut down has been opened up again for a few months (maybe only a few more weeks).
I went down to check it out and found a mud pit no one had been in for a quite awhile. When we got to it, we weren't sure how deep it would be, it could have been 3 feet deep or 6 inches deep. It turned out to be about 6 inches deep and I really didn't sink much at all.
Check out this vid, I went in pulling my strap just in case, but it turned out to have a good enough base I put it in 2WD about half-way thru the vid. I got to sling some mud, it was fun.
RIGHT-CLICK, SAVE AS - 20 MEG- KINDA DARK, TURN UP THE BRIGHTNESS IN YOUR VID PLAYER IF YOU CAN

After we took the vid, the place was starting to fill up with people, and I had to pull two people out. One guy toasted his tranny (full size blazer), so I pulled him out of a hole to flat ground.
Then, had to pull out a s-10 blazer, he was just stuck, nothing broken. Here's the kicker - the guy insisted on giving me $14 for pulling him out. I told him no less than 5 times that I didn't want the money, i don't charge for pulls. He wouldn't take no for an answer, do I did take the money. Nice guy, very upstanding.
