My 89 yoda DLX is pulling to the left. Actually, it's more like it's "turning" to the left. It seems like the steering wheel wheights more on its left quadrent and as soon as I let go of the wheel, it turns to the left. I just had the steering rod recall done (same problem before the recall) which included a wheel alignment and it also recently past inspection. No funny noises other than when turning the wheel all the way to one side (either left or right) and it makes a horrible noise when going over uneven pavement. It also does have a fisher minute mount plow on it. At least the mounting frame is on all the time. The plow goes on only when needed. Still does the same thing with the plow on.

What do you guys think it is? Could the steering stabilizer be the problem?

How recently was it aligned? Get it re-done. Betcha there was a cam bolt left loose or something...

Recall was done just over a month ago. It was pulling before the alignment. But I probably should bring it back and have them look at it anyway.

Ya, that could be bad. You are driving along and suddenly you get one of those itches in your nose while holding a coffee cup and then you have to scratch but there's no time and you let go of the wheel for just a second to scratch and you think you'll get it back in time but you don't and then BAM you turn into the BMW in the next lane. And the guy just happens to be a lawyer.

as for the noise when turning the wheels to full lock, that's your steering stops. there's 2 on each wheel, from the factory they had cheesy plastic caps that fell off on them. take a little grease and smear some on each of the stops and where they contact the knuckle, problem solved

If that does not help, you might try taking it to a different alignment shop. Not all alignment shops/techs are created equal. Some will just set it so the numbers on the machine match the numbers in the book and call it good. Others will take the time to understand the issue and maybe fudge the alignment one way or another to fix the problem.

Deffinitly sounds like a camber/caster pull. You just had the steering rod replaced by the dealer on recall. They probly just set toe especially if they didnt charge for it. On another note you can have a truck in spec and pull hard if everything is barely in spec.

Get the ft end checked and aligned.

Just got off the phone with the dealership. It's going in Friday morning.

One other thing I didn't mention. When on the highway (left lane - fast lane) it's constantly trying to turn left. Most major highways tend to dip to the left in the fast lane slightly. But when in the right lane (slow lane) it isn't as bad. That side of highways tend to dip slightly to the right.

Now in my wifes B9 Subaru, it's always moving in a straight line on the highway (no matter what lane your in). Granted the B9 is brand new and not 16 years old as the yoda. I try to stay in the middle lane as much as possible with the yoda. Pretty much the same thing on city roads. If the road tends to dip to the left, the truck will go that way unless I compensate.

Yeah the crown in the road will tend to make trucks do that. You still have a alignment pull from the sound of it.

Getting the Wheeling Fever
Cross the front tires and see if it pulls right after that. If it does, you have a bad tire.
