I have that 96 XJ case that has the long 23 spline input. Worse comes to worse, I will just swap that one out to the short 23 spline(or what ever the trans needs) I do agree that it would be a good idea to buy the Xfer case and trans together but I would like to see if I can use this case I have. The XJ came with the short ext housing on the NP231 and the bellows style boot over the output spline and slip yoke. They are gravy to turn into SYE. What about that BA10 clutch and flywheel? Will it work in a AX15? Or will I have to swap it all out?

I have heard that a 4.0L head will bolt to a 4.2L block. But at this point, I don't know the particulars like pushrods, rockers, Valves ect. That's for a future project. It has the offenhauser 4bbl intake and 500CFM Edlelbrock performer w/ off road kit (installed by me) now, and it works fine, plenty of power. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/mrt.gif" alt="" />
