Would you recommend it? Are they worth it? I know next to nothing about which clutch is good or bad.
Also, what does it mean if I have a choice of a 12,000lb or 16,000lb pressure plate?

I've installed them in Ford F-600 phone company trucks, they last a long time and don't slip, but the clutch becomes more of an on/off switch. It would be kind of grabby and not as smooth engaging as the stocker is. They also tend to wear into the flywheel, but again, they do last and hold up to heat better.

never tried a ceramic clutch but my pops runs ceramic brake pads on his truck and swears they stop better.
As far as the pressure rating, it is simply a measure of how much pressure the clutch can handle before it slips, more it better for high horsepower/low gears/big tires. You'll probally be fine with factory specs.

The 12,000/16,000lb figures are the clamping force. The 16,000lb clutch will be far more "grabby" then the 12,000 resulting in an ON/OFF feeling as was mentioned. That means that it will be difficult to slip the clutch intentionally (not good if you wheel at all). It is not needed unless you are running higher horsepower or are drag racing for the most part.
IMHO a ceramic clutch isn't needed in a Toyota and you would be wasting your money.

slipping the clutch off-road is bad unless you absolutely have to do it. i wouldn't recommend a ceramic clutch in a street driven vehicle though.

I had the ceramic clutch from Marlin in my 4Runner for a few months. Mine is daily driven and I think it is too grabby for the street. I kept the higher rate springs, but put the standard friction disc back in. I am much happier with it this way. I haven't had it on the trail since I pulled the ceramic, but I think I will still be happier without the ceramic disc.
