Heh, heh, a couple of years ago, I was living in the top floor of a very nice victorian house. Built in like 1890. Well, every once in a while you could actually hear the squirrels in the kneewall area.

Had to go up in the attic and install an FM antennae one day. As I was crawling over the insulation and rafters I felt this PAINFUL buzzing in my hand! Drew my hand back quickly and focused the flashlight near the area. You got it right, squirrels had chewed off the entire insulative wrapper on BOTH wires!! Great. I also discovered that this was not the only area that they had struck.

Rewired using metal shielded romex, and...let's just say that the neighborhood experienced a squirrel population collapse. (They drew first blood. )

When I go back there and park, luckily, they've left my Trooper alone.
