THIS COULD BE VERY PAINFUL.....I test drove a 2005 NIssan Frontier crewcab Nismo today, I know, I know...but I read many good things about it on the net and decided to give it a try.
It rode very nice and I was pleasantly suprised with the power and roominess. this is going to be a tough call now.
I tell you Toyota has some serious competition with the 2005 Frontier. not too mention tons of options at a great price.
too close for comfort right now. this will be a very tough decision.

In that case, try and figure out who is still going to be working with on your rig about 70K miles from now. That's why I drive a Yota; all the other dealerships here SUCK.

All dealers suck, but my point is this...

I tested a Frontier out myself and was very disappointed with the power. 6th speed was so weak it wouldn't pull a greasy string from a cows ass. I bet you the Taco would run circles around it in any gear with less HP. Stick with Toyota... besides its soon to be the largest auto maker in the world.

Don't forget to consider resale value! You can't sell an old Frontier. Always go Toyota.

Honda makes good cars too. They just don't make trucks. And please don't call the Ridgeline a TRUCK.
Like I said...I'm happy with Toyota.

Ridgeline is a nice suv. it mimics a truck and I am sure it performs well on road and on gravel. No one herer can argue that Honda does not make a good and reliable automobile, atv, jet ski, etc. They kick ass
I use my trucks off road, although not rock climbing but in some thick and sick mud and deep NorthAlantic beach sand. My use of offroad is much more than the average joe.
I have seen the Frontiers in action in an offroad course not designed for joe civilian. They abuse these frontiers and are using these same Frontiers on the front lines of remote hostile places.
point being, They are tough, reliable trucks. with that said I do like Toy more and am glad that Nissan is making sure the new Toy Tacomas better not drop the ball and make it a freakin mall mobile and am also hopingh Toyota doesn't forget who got them( Tacoma & $ Runner) where they are today. poeple like us who expect quality and durability.
competition is a good thing.
now I want to know when the hell I can get a diesel Tacoma crew cab???? I;ve seen them in costa rica and other places ( called a Hilux )
Toy needs to get on it and fast
rock on toy boys

Tacoma? I think it happened a little before that...

I think it was the first and second generation pickups that got Toyota where they are today! At least in the 4x4 area.

Aside from the hidious look of the new Tacoma, I wouldn't mind one myself. Can't beat the torque in that thing! And As far as Nissan havin' more horsepower? Yeah, they do, but it's like 10 or 15. And they're sacraficing the torque for the horsepower.

'Yotas all the way!

Just to add some insult to injury here...I was driving up to Tahoe on Hwy 50 the day after Christmas in my Mom's 4 Runner with a bunch of gear and my gf and sister where just outside Kyburz as you head up the hill what do you think I saw? A new-ish ( maybe 02, 01 ) Frontier with one passenger and nothing in the bed pulled off the road (well actually in the slow lane stopped) with the hood up. I looked to the girls and before I could utter a word, my sister says, " I know...that's why we drive Toyotas." (she has a 4 runner too).

Three cheers for Nissan...Hip Hip .....yawn
