every time I steped on the gas the voltage gage would drop below 12 volts. The fan would slow down and lights would dim. After 4 or 5 seconds it would recover again. This morning I went to start it up, it ran 3 or 4 seconds, the voltage gage droped hard and it stopped running. You could not have written a better description of a failing alternator if you had tried. You need to have it load tested at your local auto parts store. That was before I could tell you that I found the fuel pump fuse to be blown. Thats why it wouldnt start. Now it keeps blowing the fuel pump fuse. Is it the alternator thats causing this? I feel its the fuel pump. Thanks to you guys( I really do appreciate the responses <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/cheers.gif" alt="" />) my wife thinks Im nuts. How can a bad alt blow the fuel pump fuse...over and over? Doesnt a bad fuel pump do that?
