Problem with Pioneer DEH-P6400 #67964 01/13/03 04:25 AM

Hello group,
I've noticed several of you have this specific CD player. I'm having a problem. The organic display seems to switch from normal to bright every 10 seconds as long as the car has power. Anyone know how to make this stop? The bright feature is a bit too much, and distorts the entire screen.

I used to have the pioneer premier deh p900r and it did the same thing. I dont have that deck anymore but I do know that there is a way to turn that feature off in the settings. I believe the radio had to be turned off and then I had to enter into the menu. There was definitely a way to make it stop doing that up until you change your car battery then it goes back to that "alternating display" mode since I guess its the default.

I have this deck in my '91. The unit is stuck in what is called the "reverse mode" i have no idea why the hell you would want it to do it, but it will reset to this everytime the battery is disconnected. to turn it off...Hold down the #5 button(#5 or #3) i'm not completely sure. and turn the unit off by holding down the "source" button for 2 seconds. the unit will beep once telling you that you have exited "reverse mode". also, this has to be done while the ignition switch is on.
Good Luck...by the way, there is something in the manual about this...can't remember where though.

Damn that's annoying. I do have the fix: Reverse Mode is ON, and you need to turn it off.

On my unit, you have to go into Setup Mode.

I do this by depressing Button 1 while the power is off.

Button 1 for me is the first station preset button under the display.

Yours may be different.

Good luck.

Curt
