I have a 1994 Isuzu Pickup with 60k miles on it...Truck runs great, good compression, it does idle a bit high both cold and warm. I'm getting less then 20MPG...Anyone have any thoughts? I thought I remembered my 2.6l trooper got in the 25's what's everyone else getting? TIA <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/cheers.gif" alt="" />

Completely stock with 70k miles, the Amigo got around 21 highway/17 in town. With the current mods and 164k miles, it gets around 18 highway/14-15 in town. Definitely never been in the 25's... and its pretty flat around here compared to many areas.

Local driving only, consistently around 17.5 . I doubt it would be much over 20 on the highway.

It depends on the truck configuration.

What do you have 2WD or 4WD? Auto or Manual?

My '89 trooper with auto only gets about 17 if I tool around
like a baby. If I pull anything or run it very hard, you can
expect somewhere in the 13-14mpg.

The manual 1st gen Troopers can get upwards of 20-22mpg.

4WD auto Pickup probably not so good... as they weight
almost as much as a first gen Trooper. 2WD manual, I'd
expect mid to high 20's, if taken easy.

I think my 89 2wd auto 2.6 pickup was getting like 20ish stock. Pretty much stayed right about there.

I have a 2.6 with a manual in my 89 trooper. I just figured out my mileage this last weekend. I got 22 mpg and that was with all our gear, 2 dogs, m/t's, and very hilly roads. Around town I usually get around 19-20. I put a new head on about 1000 miles ago which helped out alot.

Its a 4X4 5sp manual...Thanks to everyone who posted. I guess I was expecting a little better mileage, but I can see what I'm experiencing is pretty normal.
