Getting the Wheeling Fever
I have a 2005 4Runner with only 3000 miles on it. The brakes are not all that smooth when applied? No noise is coming from the brakes, but mainly not a feeling of smooth braking. The steering wheel does not shake, nor does the brake pedal pulse representing warped rotors. It's almost like I'm pressing the pedal the brake pedal on and off while coming to a stop. Also, when the pedal is released you hear a clunk in the rear of the vehicle and feel it inside. You feel it more so than hear the clunk. I'm taking it back to Toyota, but wanted to see if anyone could share some info on their thoughts.

Thanks!

Getting the Wheeling Fever
Just wanted to share w/you all about the fix and hopefully help someone else out. My 4Runner sat for a while, many months, thus warping the rotors. Has them shaved and all is well with that area. The sound from the rear also happens on a number of other dual axle Toyota vehicles. It's something to do with the suspension and axle and a known issue, butno problem. I had a Toyota repair man drive w/me and when I told him about the noise, he knew exactly what it was. So if you have this, there should be no issues or problems. Hope this helps someone.

R.
