Curiousity has the best of me. I've heard that this is a rarity on this engine, but have heard of some, just want to know if anyone here has had this issue.
Knocking hard on wood, I have not had any problems in over 150k.

Good!
Reason I ask, is we already have a vehicle prone to headgasket failures - the Toyota 22RE 4-cylinder.
And we've bout had enough, as we are certain that at 40k on the rebuilt, that the head is again leaking antifreeze. It blew 2 hoses during our artic freeze at the beginning of December, but it did NOT overheat at that time.
It's now pouring antifreeze out the side of the engine once it reaches operation temperature .
I'm just frustrated because we put $3-4k into it 5yrs ago when the 1st engine went at only 199k. The 1st engine never overheated, it was heading to the red as we started to shut it down, then a puff of smoke and it died.
To me, I should have gotten a LOT more miles per what most people believe the Toyota quality to be.
Thank you for the response.

In the 27 hours that have passed since you first posted this question, many of us have been nursing New Year's hangovers.
Reel back the sarcasm a coupla notches and give folks a coupla days to post up their experiences...
That said, the 3.2 is a robust engine not known for head gasket failure. Search a little and you'll find some intermittent issues with intake manifold gasket (IMGs) and some potential issues about oil rings on the pistons... it'll server you well to make regular oil-level checks. With regular maintenance and checks, the 3.2 and its bigger brother the 3.5 are great motors!

Sorry - didn't think about other's actually getting to enjoy New Year's, our party never happened and in fact it's been kind of gloomy knowing our other truck has thrown us in a horrible bind.
If this is how our 2006 is gonna be, oh, I don't even want to think that.
I apologize, we went to bed on the 31'st doing nothing but hoping we weren't seeing what we were seeing, got up on the 1st and had forgotten all about even having done the countdown the night before.

No worries, then, and I hope your '06 takes an up-turn.
Having an Isuzu should help.
