6cy trucks use a 4 piston caliper, older 4cy trucks have a 2 piston.

You might also need a larger bore master cylinder, a V6 or even a Fj80 one is what people use. I'm sure someone will chime in with a better answer.

My 88 V6 truck with 36x14.50 swampers stops great with stock drums, stock v6 master cylinder, and stock v6 calipers.


Also, make sure your rear drums are properly adjusted. If they are out of adjustment you can loose a lot of braking power.
