Body Damage is Cool
Any thoughts on either?
I'm looking at 33x12.5x15's

I like the fact that the Truxus have sipes already "built in", but I some reservations about the weight I keep hearing about (need to do more searching on that).
I do have Aluminum wheels to put them on, so that will help reduce some weight. Comments/suggestions appreciated!
Thanks!
Todd

BFG's are decent in our neck of the woods.
They do slip a bit in snow though more so if you have a locked truck.

I personally thought my trxus MT worked better than my MTRs. I would buy them again.

I really like my Trxus, they seem to do better than BFG mts in similiar conditions/rigs. I also heard that they are a bit heavy, don't know the exact weight. They do run true sizes.

Ya, snow is a concern, as is ice, but not much is going to stick to ice as well as a studded tire.
I am locked in the rear with a lockright. (Someday that will change to either selectable or limited slip).
Thanks for the input, keep'em coming!

good to know. I'm planning on buying 37x12.50 TrXus MT's. I have Dunlop MT's... basically a BFG knock off... they suck. can't drive fast b/c they seem to be out of round or somin. I'd stay away from them.

the TrXus do seem to be a good deal.. but if they wear like the MT/R's then the BFG MT may still be the best bang for your buck. And the TrXus MT's are heavy(55lbs for 31x10.5)and a real PITA to balance anything 33"+. larger tires, like the 37's are darn near impossible to balance. thats what i've heard/read anyway..

I have been running the Trxus for over a year now and have 26K miles on mine. They have been great on and off road. Mud, rocks, loose dirt - no problems. They are difficult to balance. Mine took 7- 10 oz of weights on 4 of the tires, and 1 tire needed 4 oz. But they did balance and ride smoothly up to 80 mph. I have a bit of chunking off the lugs, but nothing too major.

I might get the BFG MTs next time just to compare, but I'd say either tire is a great choice. The Trxus is at least something different - lots of folks run the BFGs. And the Trxus are less expensive. Good luck. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/patriot.gif" alt="" />
