Thanks labomba89

..and thanks for the sticky! My first sticky ever -

I read that GPS systems will only prevent restart because disabling a vehicle while in motion is hazardous.

I know how easy it can be to remove my factory alarm because I installed it. Once someone removes the harness and reattaches the stock harness, my runner runs. They can probably get to the battery from underneath so the alarm won't sound.

Yeah, I thought about hidden switches and such but they can be found and hard to keep a secret if you have passengers. I then thought of perhaps some mechanical means such as either creating a new shift console that includes a hardened sliding pin or u-bolt that would lock the auto-stick in park or modify the existing console (or perhaps a lock that covers the shift lever so the switch to shift is inaccessible). Another I thought of was a freewheeling steering wheel that has to be locked in order to steer (but that sure would be a liability if it failed while driving)or some sort of secondary steering lock. Another: something like a parking ticket boot for your wheel. Another: brake lock *edit - or how about a gas pedal boot - can't press the gas pedal because it's blocked to the floor - or some kind of boot that attaches the gas and brake together.

I suppose the 'ol fuel pump switch should be on my list of "to do"

Re: switches - I wonder if they make a pressure type switch that can handle the amperage required to disable the vehicle so that I can hide it under the firewall carpet or dash. Punch the dash to get the car started (people may think you need anger management)
