Okay, glad people now understand the Beach Buggy part of NCBBA... whew, though that I was going to have to do a lot of typing....
The FISHING rods are 12 footers, not the fish. I have seen a 12 foot shark landed once, but if I had a 12 foot anything else to haul in, I surely would need a Jeep to help me with it.
As for the plastic children's Jeep of 2007, sure, I agree, it's the end of an era for sure, but 1986 was the end of something good and the beginning of something else that wasn't all that bad. My 91 has those semi-original roll bar supports that went away the following year. Glad I got one, I don't normally keep a seat in the back anyway, so why have that goofy thing to hold the seat belts out in the sun to get faded, right? The folks at DC have a lot of safety issues they have had to implement since `86. Over time, the folks that make the laws and safety standards, the ones that wear goofy clothes and still don't know how to take the top off their Jeeps, come up with new requirements. DC has done okay, I think, with making changes in a way that will keep the tradition of the Jeep, until now. I won't buy an `07. I'll keep my `91 for a long time. I hope DC goes back to the Jeeping side of Jeeps and gets of the pavement with their design team for `08.
As for the V6. My YJ's I6 4.0 gets crappy gas mileage, my ex's Explorer 4.0 V6 gets twice the miles out of the same fillup. Granted, my Jeep will drag her Ford down the street and her's won't budge my Jeep, but these are the flip flop sides to different technologies. As for space. I don't mind the fact that I don't have any space up front in the engine box, but if you stick a V6 in there, it will eliminate that space ya have on the sides... I'm just waiting to see the sideways V6... will remind me so much of my Mercury Sable I just won't bother.... HA.
So, my $0.02 for the day. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/lol.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/patriot.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/cheers.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/patriot.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/lol.gif" alt="" />
