I just got done removing mine all together and didn't notice any change in idle function. Although the vaccuum port was already plugged up at the intake with carbon. A lot of people remove them if they don't have a/c. (it also controls the a/c idle up I believe). Sure made my engine compartment a lot cleaner looking too.
