Is a 60 center any more "in the box" than a 9"? Cmon Randii, people have been building custom from scratch 9s for decades. :p

If the 60 CVs were on any of the rigs at sema I didn't see it. Closest I've ever seen em to competition was on a table at tech inspection. Not that I personally check over each rig, so I could have missed it. They certainly are big and impressive looking. I know there was a lot of excitement over the sunray setup, but then they started breaking. IMHO thats more due to the extreme angles they were pushing and not the part strength. At a certain point a single u-joint stops trying to turn and just tries to break itself. Back to the original question about portals, my friend Rusty put toyota discs on his mog portal axles. Theres a huge thread entitled "check out THIS buggy" in pirates gen4x4 section. They seemed to work fine, but he did mention that they could be better. That was his first run with the rig though, so there is certainly room for adjustment.
