Since you would have to remove the entire axle shaft for this to work, I might reconsider this plan. Without dropping the entire front axle assembly, you will only be able to remove the outter half-shafts. That will allow the mechanic to replace only one boot, the other one would have to be installed when you re-install the half shaft.

I'd gladly spend an extra $50 to avoid having to drop the axle. Not that the Mecatechs are the only way to go, but the procedure is the same.
