Yep, either slap a few 2x4s in a square a bit larger than the base of the jack stands, gives mine 3" extra height. ![[Linked Image]](http://www.4crawler.com/4x4/CheapTricks/Images/Phase-III/Faxle5.jpg) But the trick is you don't have to be able to lift the tires off the ground, take them off then lower the frame onto the stands. Gets rid of about a foot of height. As is, with the droop I get with the Alcan springs, my axle will touch the ground with the frame on my boosted jack stands. I use the 6-ton HF jack stands.

I usually just do 2 frame jack stands and then pull the tires and lower the axle down on a floor jack under the center of the axle. Loosen one side to allow some wiggle room, then go to the other side and swap out the springs, assemble loosely then finish the first side. That works, too... <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

my stands are 21" and my frame is sitting 20.25" off the ground, so I think I will have enough room if I take the tires off and drop it down. Correct? Think I will make the blocks too so I have a lil more to play with.

I use my jack base all the time, whether I need the added height or not. Makes the jack stands more stable (at least on my uneven asphalt driveway) and it lets me use less extension on the stand which is also more stable and probably safer.

if your stands are 21" and the frame is 20.25", yes you could get your tires on and off, lifting it will be a different matter, i'd use blocks under the stands like 4crawler suggested, did when i lifted my truck as well

Man, I may have to make some of those jackstand booster blocks like someone (maybe you, roger?) did with 2x4s now that I think of it b/c I dont think they will reach the frame...or suck it up and buy some taller ones. I have the 6-ton jackstands from Harbor Freight and they are not tall enough. I used to use pieces of 4 x 12 that I got out of a scrap pile at a job site, but the split. So I made mine out of sandwiched 2 x 4 and carriage bolts, they work great. ![[Linked Image]](http://pics.montypics.com/oops/2006-01-20/1137806832_jack_stand_blocks.jpg)
