Yep, either slap a few 2x4s in a square a bit larger than the base of the jack stands, gives mine 3" extra height.

But the trick is you don't have to be able to lift the tires off the ground, take them off then lower the frame onto the stands. Gets rid of about a foot of height. As is, with the droop I get with the Alcan springs, my axle will touch the ground with the frame on my boosted jack stands. I use the 6-ton HF jack stands.
