Getting the Wheeling Fever
Does anyone know a place online to find a transmission for my 94 Trooper? It is a 1994 5speed 3.2SOHC 4X4. After pulling my trans to fix what I thought was a clutch problem, it appears that my trans is toast. I plan to check local junkyards and would also like to know what all vehicles I could use a 5speed trans from. Does the Rodeo, Amigo or Passport use the same transmission?

Thanks,

Kevin

I just dealt with Jason regarding a rear air deflector for my '92. They should have a 5-speed tranny...

You can also check http://www.car-part.com

ALL RODEO V6 ENG S FROM 93 THRU AT LEAST 95 AND ALL THE TROOPERS 92 THRU AT 95 WILL FIT , IF YOU FIND A RODEO OR TROOPER LATER MODEL IT WILL FIT RIGHT IN AND WORK AS LONG AS IT DOESN,T HAVE THE SHIFT ON THE FLY SYSTEM, PASS PORTS INCLUDED , WORST COMES TO WORST YOU CAN CONVERT AN 89-91 4CYL TO WORK BY CHANGING THE BELLHOUSING , (ACTUALLY THE FRT OF THE TRANS FROM THE V6 TO THE 4CYL AND THE TRANS FER CASE REAR CVR ALSO, THEY ARE BASCIACCLY THE SAME TRANS MISSION, DON,T TRY THE 2.8 OR THE 3.1 TRANS TOO MANY CHANGE TOO MAKE , JERRY

First, what's wrong w/ your tranny? Isuzu runs an odd setup. Iw as told twice that I needed new trannies. Once was a shifter issue. The other related to clutch hydraulics.

Second, you might want to check w/ Joe B (bigpoppax). He's from WV and has a good handle on the parts market. Also, He's a dang good shade tree.

Well I haven't torn the trans apart yet, but even when in gear, you can turn the input shaft and the output shaft does not turn. The input shaft feels really notchy like the splines on the inside are stripped out. I had just assumed it was the clutch the day it went out and after I pulled the clutch, it was worn down to the rivets, so I didn't even really check the trans until I got the new clutch. I will contact bigpoppax and see if he knows of anywhere to get one at. I have several junkyards around me, but they are pretty small and the one that might have it (haven't checked yet since I didn't find out until Friday night and everything closed on the weekends) usually is really high on things.

Thanks again,

Kevin

Ok, quick question. I have found an Isuzu Pup 5 speed 4x4 with the 2.6 4cyl in it. The guy that has it is not sure if it is a 91 or a 92. Would this transmission work with switching the bellhousing/front case over?

Thanks,

Kevin

Yes, that would work fine.
