Getting the Wheeling Fever
I need some oem toyota parts. Just wondering what the best way to go about purchasing. I need valve adusting screws, spark plugs, valve cover gaskets including where cover fastens. Engine is 22re. I've called a random dealer before and ordered parts, but I was just wondering if there is a an easier/cheaper way like an online option. How can I find part #s on these?

1st toyota parts is the cheapest i've found online. As fer part numbers, they have a catalog but it might not help for screws and such. There was something else I had looked at for part numbers but I'll have to find it again.

the dealer is the only place to get the adjusting screws(or somebody who sells OEM parts), i'd just go to napa for the valve cover gasket, and anywhere for the spark plugs(factory are NGK)

I'll "third" the 1sttoyotaparts.com suggestion. They are located about 20 minutes from me, so it's convenient to order online to get the discount and go pick up the parts to save the shipping cost.

I know if you're a member at YotaTech, North Ridge Toyota offers 25 % off of their parts as well as free shipping to the continental U.S.! I haven't ordered from them, but the customers seem quite happy. Here's the YotaTech link ~click here~.

If I'm not mistaken a member on this board works with or for Toyota PartSales which is also connected to www.trdparts4u.com. Both are affiliated with Toyota of Dallas. I could be completely wrong about someone working with/for these companies, but most do know that they offer elripster's ball joint spacers

So there's lots of online vendors out there now that Parts Managers realize there's a market for Internet Sales. Be sure to shop around!

HTH,

EDIT:As far as finding OEM part numbers don't worry about it too much. These online toyota dealers apparently don't just give up P/N's, however if you have a P/N you can do a reverse look-up. Is it me, or do most OEM dealer sites look the same? If you really want to find a P/N you'll more than likely find it at the local auto parts stores websites...such as (in my area) NaPa, Advance Auto, Autozone , CarQuest, etc.

By the way, have you checked the Toyota P/N thread? It's sticky'd on the top of this forum

Hope you get everything you need at a good deal!

Sorry for such long-winded posts, but I keep thinking of new ideas, but I would feel like a post wh*re if I seperate them up instead of editing.
