If you buy a quaility fan like the blackmagic ones, it will come with a fan shroud. I use one on my 3.0 and it cools it down nicely even on hot days with the a/c running. Summit sells them fairly cheap, and they come with an adjustable thermostat, though I have mine wired directly into the ignition, so it is always on. I ran mine this way so I never have to worry about it over heating because of thermostat failure, I have scene far to many after market and oem electric fans stop working when running off a thermostat.

I have a Black Magic as well. Works great. I've had it for about 5 years. The T'stat on it gave up about a year ago and I bought an electronic one and it works great. It moves quite a bit of air. I have the control circuit wired to 12v all the time so if it's hot enough, it will come on even if the ignition is turned off. I didn't wire it so it's on all the time, I don't want it running while I'm cruzing down the freeway. I also have an LED on my dash that tells me when its on.
