Not yet - we'll post more information when it is available. Insurance and permits are still very much in process...

Hey randii did you ever get to talk to Rich about insurance? Or did you find another better route?

I have talked with Big Rich, and we have the same insurance agent, so am leveraging further exploration, as well. We do not as yet have an affordable plan in place, but I expect a rather immediate update one track, and am pursing several others with a February update cycle... as well as some different numbers games with the agencies.

Insurance and agencies... boy, this event gig can be sooooooooo much fun.

It's all fun and games until someone lets the lawyers in.

What if everyone just shows up and pretend they don't know each other? To be convincing, you'd have lots of post-trail alcohol. Such is the cross to bear.

All joking aside, I may never make it but you're in my heart. If it's a choice between you or the board facing personal risk, or not having the event, please put your personal protection first and don't let people sway you. You're a good guy and I'm sure everyone will promise not to sue....until there's a problem.

And if not, I you can stop by any skydiving dropzone and get a great liability waiver template. Scratch out "jump" and "airplane" replace with "offroad" and "Isuzu."

I know I've posted it before, but here's an intersting outdoor law history/primer.

Boy Howdy. The frustrating thing is that we've never had a claim... We've discussed before the reasons why the prices went up -- IIRC, you schooled me on it the last time with some updated info from Colorado adventure-related business. Thanks for that, BTW, there were some pieces I did not have that added substantially to my overall understanding when fit into the larger puzzle.

It may come to that... that's all I'm willing to post for now. If the non-profit doesn't have an event this year, that'd be fine with me -- if the time for the non-profit is through, that's OK, too... times are definitely changing. We're in no rush to permanent decisions -- the trick is to make a balanced decision for this year without closing too many doors for future years.

Thanks for the good words, and never fear, I will keep my ass well-covered (I hear a unison sigh of relief from across the land on THAT visual). The event is near and dear to my heart, but I'm a big fan of making sure my collection of toys stays in my care, which was one of the reasons we created the non-profit in the first place, somewhat in parallel with the insurance and agency relations.

I am certain of one thing: I will be in Moab the third weekend of May for 2006 and 2007, guaranteed. Whether I wear an 'Event Staff' shirt is yet to be determined, but I'll be there, and I'll be 'wheeling.

The real question is whether or not Uzi will be there.

I think UZI is like Bigfoot, some have claimed to see it, but there is little evidance that they actually exist
