Getting the Wheeling Fever

I took this quote from Marlin's site:

"Twin shifters can not be used on a single transfer case behind a W56 C or D model transmission but can be used on the rear case of a dual case setup on these transmissions."

I suppose this is because of transmission shifter interference. Apparently A and B versions are OK. I don't have a W56, but am curious as to how many W56 versions there are.
