Hello I have stock 88 montero right now and will be doing 2" lift by cranking t-bar and adding a leaf made by ProComp. I noticed few sites are recommending KYB shocks. But I was told by KYB that their shock isn't designed for suspension lift trucks. I'm wondering if anyone is using KYB shocks w/ lift? Part # I have from summit racing for KYB shocks are KYB-KG4034(rear) and KYB-KG5603A(front). If you don't recommend KYB what shocks are good to go with? Thank you

The part numbers are around somewhere for KYB's that are for lifted Montero's. Sorry I don't have them as I'm stock.
Two inches is a lot for the torsion bars, have you thought about a body lift?

I thought several of Gen1 montero owners lift 2" by cranking torsion bar? What's maximum I can lift without damaging IFS?

1 1/2 to 2" can be obtained. MIght need to trim the rubber on the bump stop. Longer shocks are not needed. If you off road, I recommend the very soft "Red Rider Comfort" shocks.

I've been told KYB rep in my country that KYB shocks (Gas-A-Just series) are *very* stiff, and are meant for street performance, not off-roading. Probably the MonoMax series are better suited for off-roading.
I just installed ProComp ES9000s on my truck and I'm very satisfied with their perfomance, on and off-road. These are meant for up to 1" lift tough.
