I got valvoline full synth, but only in the rear diff (i have manual hubs in the front). I gained a little MPG by putting full synth in the tranny, xfercase and rear diff. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/patriot.gif" alt="" />

Will it hurt anything if I run 75w90 in the rear instead of 80w? I'd like to go to synthetic just because of what I've seen it do in my engine and in my dads chevy's differential.I've had that rear pumpkin under water so much I'd like to change the lube anyway just in case I've gotten some water in there.

75w90 is fine, it's just a little lighter when cold but the same as 80w90 when warm and it will be warm most of the time.
