You should be able to swap it over if you follow the installation directions on this page. If the gear ratios are the same you could just swap the whole third also.

The key to "keeping the same settings"....in this case, the backlash.....is to mark both carrier bearing spanner adjusters. Even a black "Sharpie" or maybe a scribe works fine for marking. Don't mix up the left and right sides and you can do it. You can doooo it.

The Lockright is just a replacement for the original spider gears, isn't it? If it's the same as the EZLocker, you don't have to remove the carrier to take it out. Just remove the differential pin, and take the pieces out. No setup required.

http://gearinstalls.com/aussielocker.htm

look at this link and some of the other related links on my site. When re-installing the new case into the carrier( http://gearinstalls.com/bearing.htm see bottom of page for pictorial)

....basically, make sure to slam the case right up against the ring gear such that there is no "wiggle play" or backlash......when you screw the 'ring gear side adjuster' in by finger it will line up.....done with that side.

I'd say send it to me but it's too costly to do that.
All the guys on this board are very willing to help you get thru that learning curve......just be ready to help us out by posting clear close up pics <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/kewl.gif" alt="" /> ZUK

No, they aren't always flush. I have some white touch up paint I use to mark things like this, a paint marker is handy, too. Just paint a line across any point where the ring meets the carrier, then remove the lock tab and count the number on turns it takes the remove the cap. paint that number on the ring with an R of L so you don't get then mixed up. Before you remove the caps, mark where they meet the housing with paint also. The caps are threaded on the inside, and there is enough play in the cap bolt holes to not quite line up the threads, making reassembly difficult.

But if you are replacing bearings or gears, you will have to set it up anyway. So if you are just transfering the locking components, don't take it apart. No need to cause yourself problems.
