I am looking to get a 2" body lift and am wondering if I should be replacing my bushings at the same time. How long should they last, I have a 98 and dont know if they have ever been changed. Also, any suggestions for a quality body lift brand or expected cost would be appreciated (I have found a lot for around $140.00).

Has anyone heard anything bad about Performance Accesories body lift kits? Are there any real hidden problems in getting a body lift, I know about the shifter, bumper gaps, gas tank line etc... Anyone out there with a body lift? I just want to get some personal experience and unbiased opinions before I go ahead and purchase one. Thanks.

My friend calls them 'The devil', but who can blame him seeing he had to pay someone to weld plates where the pucks tore the mounts out of his cab! <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/zombie.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/scared.gif" alt="" />

If you must have it.... check out Roger Brown's website for one of the 'better' kits.

2 of my old jalopies have 2" lifts on them. If you go getting in to 3" or more, then you have to start tweaking things.
You'll like it; gives you more room in the tight spots to work on stuff.

Did you guys have to do any cutting so the shifter would be abe to go into gear correctly? A lot of people say you cant go into 4hi if you dont do some adjustive cutting in the floor.

Did you install the kit by yourself (or with the help or friends). I want to do it on my own so I dont have to pay a shop to take their time on it. What might I need? A couple jacks or strong guys? I can be patient if it takes awhile but I dont want to mess anything up, it sounds pretty straight forward though.
