Frustrated with those old, third generation copies of copies of copies?? I learned from the parts guy that you pull the lock cylinder on the passengers side, and there is the 'number' stamped on the side for making factory keys. sweet. it works.

You can get complete lock kits as well. For my truck, I had a different key for the ignition than the doors, so I ordered a complete lock set from my dealer with new cylinders for the doors, glove box, and ignition.

For my 94 Land Cruiser, I gave the dealer the VIN and they got me new keys. I only had one key when I bought it and it was so worn that none of the copies I had made would work.

How much did this cost you from the stealer Harry?
I just paid about $160 for the ignition cylinder, both door cylinders, gas door cylinder and 4 keys from the dealer. Expensive but it was the only place I could find all that.

Cool, thanks for the tip. My key hasn't worked in the passenger door or rear window since I bought it.
