There are one or two bolts(or nuts/studs) on the underside that are very hard to see....especially when it's all together. Get a mirror or something and check under there to make sure you didn't miss one. The studs sort of hold it in place so it might take a little force to pop it loose. Just don't get too carried away and break something.

That front stud is a PITA also. First time I took mine apart I had to just use a pair of vicegrips on the stud to get it out....totally ruined it. I replaced the stud with a long bolt so I would never have to deal with that stupid thing again.

Ditto the intake being a PITA to get off. I pulled the head on mine and left the intake intact. I swapped it out on the bench.

There are bolts on the under side of the intake that I really can't see getting to very easily. Maybe from underneath the truck reaching up through where the carbon cylinder is.

Why does the intake need to come off? If it's for a head change just pull the head with it on there.

there are some hoses under it that need replacing, and the son of a gun that I bought it from did not use gaskets, only blue sealer. Head gasket tested fine, we are in luck there. Thanks for the help, BTW, there are only 8 bolts/nuts total holding it on right?

Looks like 8 but not sure if 1 or 2 of the other holes on the front of the head are for the intake also. Been a long time since I took mine apart. Those should be easy to see if they are. Have fun.
