Well my 87 Raider had the 2.6 auto and has a 4.625 gear. I am still running the stock 225/75/15 rubber. Highway travel is a little tough on the fuel economy but regular driving 50mph and lower is great I think. Not sure how an auto with larger tires would pull, but I guess we are about to find out. I am thinking it will be a little slow out of the gate but when boost comes on it would be good. With mine I lifted with RPMs up there (gas tach don't work with diesel) at 70mph to check highway speeds. That was fast enough for me. As for parts I have found many parts are easily obtainable. T-belts are available from gates at almost all parts stores. Also the Beck/Arnley people have belts and OEM type seals. I am sure from my reseach that these engines are the same (2.3 & 2.5) with exception of bore. Be sure to check the dealer as some times they surprise us on cost and most times nothing is better than OEM parts. http://www.ebay.co.uk/ is also a good place to find 2.5 stuff. Just type in diesel shogun lots of good things come up.
