one out of the 90 YJ np 231 ...had to swap some stuff off to make it work...so basicaly its set up for a TJ now works fine why?

no its still good i just had to swap the linkage arm and replace it with a TJ one ...nothing else was taken...so my old YJ box has a Tj arm instead of the YJ one ..
