Can somebody tell me what the torque is supposed to be on oil pan bolts? My '84 factory service manual says [color:"red"] 52 ft/lbs. [/color]
I sheared one off attempting to torque it... I dropped the torque wrench to 25 ft/lbs. and sheared another... I finally just cinched them down to about 12 ft/lbs. Upon looking at the back of the fsm for 8mm bolts with the number 4 on the head, it says to torque those to 9 ft/lbs.

Why would the factory service manual state 52 ft/lbs in one section, then 9 ft/lbs at the back? What should I torque them to? By the way - this is for an '84 22r.
