Getting the Wheeling Fever
I'm a big fan of Roger's http://www.4crawler.com/4x4/ForSale/RearBumper.shtml
but it's function B4 fashion. Maybe you could chrome it and throw some pretty snatch plugs in the holes?

I thought http://www.reunel.com/index.html had one, but I couldn't find it on their site.

I had the same bumper you have now on my '88 4Runner. Besides hanging WAY too low, it was a weak POS. I broke it the first time pulling someone out (not even a snatch), the welds around reciever tube failed. I bent that back up and rewelded it. The brackets bent 6" to the side when that truck got t-boned (they were weak stamped metal). Finally I gave it to my brother and it folded up like wet paper when he got rear ended. Your truck looks WAY too nice for trail beating, but I would still want something more significant than smitty or stock to protect that nice sheetmetal from a minor bump.

Yeah, yeah "crumple-zones" save lives...

Rarely do you see a stock bumper because they rot away. The original bumper on my 94 was all rusted/rotted in the middle. I was able to pull a log splitter and a woodchipper with it though. The woodchipper finally killed it after a day of hauling it around, i'm surprised the rental place let me hook up to it <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/pfft.gif" alt="" />.

I just want the stock one, (actually got an SR5 bumper) just to have one, I believe it is illegal here in Connecticut not to have a rear bumper. Plus I don't plan on hauling much anyway. .... Of course plans change <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/rolleyes.gif" alt="" />
