Not that I am aware of. They have the white sticker on the door post - that's it. I have two diesel 1986 Troopers, a 94 Trooper, a 97 Trooper and a 98 Trooper. I use to own a 95 Trooper, a 1987 Trooper and a two other 1986 Troopers. They all had the build plates except the 4 1986s. The non-86s had the plate (not sure on the 87) but the 86s did not have the black build plate in the engine compartment. If they have one somehere else, I don't know about it.
