on engnbldr's site, i'm assuming the head gasket set w/ head bolts under 85-95 22R, 22RE, 22REC, 22RTEC, will work on my 84 22R as well?
can't find head gasket labeled for an 84, this is why i ask...sorry if it's a noob question , just want to make sure

Remember the car talk guys are on a show that is paid for by sponsers, they say what the sponsers want them to say!!!! Do not use it accept in emergences!!!!! 1 more thing should i get new head bolts ? maybe arp ? or should the orignal ones be ok to reuse I would, at least OEM!!!!

as long as the threads aren't galled and the bolts aren't pitted, they're probably OK to use. the 22R didn't use torque to yield bolts like the V6.
as for that ebay gasket set, that head gasket looks like a felpro to me.

in the past at least, felpro made black gaskets with an orange bead of sealant around them. i found one on a siezed 20R that i have in my back yard that looks like it was installed but never ran again(if i was a hick i could've reused the gasket)

No comment on coolant stop-leak but obviously you've never listened to Car Talk. It's an NPR program and sponsored by the listeners, not thru advertising of any sort. Large contributors do occasionally get their names mentioned but none of them are car parts manufacturers.

True but those two are full of ^#&&^#()*_ anyway. I've heard more wrong and/or incomplete answers on that show.... Strictly fastfood advice if you ask me. Rely on the wealth of personal and profossional experience you find here.
