Getting the Wheeling Fever
For the guys that switched to electric fuel pumps; where did you get your mech pump block-off plate? Any part numbers?
Also, I've been looking at getting a weber carb. I've looked at a couple places and they suggest different model numbers. Which one is correct and why? I have the standard tranny. Is it the K610 DGEV or the K-614 DFEV? Thanks

Getting the Wheeling Fever
Check out the link below for a previous post that explains the difference between carbs....
I had previously asked the same question about the block off plate and got the same answer...
Unfortunatly some of us don't live near any junk yards that have starions or conquests, so we are not able to hunt for parts....
It would be great if someone could come up with a part # for the block off plate but maybe such a number does not exist...
I have been thinking of making one myself out of thick aluminium....
I was just going to trace the fuel pump spacer onto the aluminium....

MD023388 is the gasket for that block off plate but the plate itself is not listed in my part number database. I do have a few extra laying around somewhere though.

Now remember, you have to locate your electric fuel pump as close to the gas tank level as possible. Mine is located on the rear left side on the inside of the frame close to the shock support. I used the universal pump available at your part store, it is a small square pump that pumps if I remember correctly 3 to 6 ppm. I which I had a place to host my pictures so you can see them.

Good luck <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/kewl.gif" alt="" />

Many years ago I switched out my mechanical pump for an electric on another vehicle. I simply got a piece of scrap 3/8" aluminum plate(thickness not too important), used the gasket for the old pump as a pattern and with a hacksaw and file made my own. There may be a metal recycling yard near you or a small quantity metal dealer or even a metal shop that will sell you a small piece of scrap.
