M MuddRunner Wheeler I think that the temperature sender is only for the dash meter. The other temperature sensor in the front of the engine provides the signal for computer, i.e. cold idle etc. This is on my '92, maybe the same on your '84 '92 Pickup x-cab, 22re, auto.
