Can you explain where the plug is that is down by the pan rail? Is this on the back of the engine? The engine has a fairly good drip, and with the truck parked at an angle (front jacked up higher than rear), the oil drips becomes quite a bit worse... it's not like I have quarts pouring out, but I do have a pretty good puddle going... Thanks for your patience...

do you have a factory service manual? if not get on ebay and find one.
or call engbuilder, he is a busy man but will take the time to help people out. who rebuilt your motor, you could go back to them.
those plugs have a place. sorry man.

>>>On the bottom of the engine, near the center, inside. Easy to spot there is only one. It just plugs off the oil galley. Most of them are square drive, we have seen a few that were Allen head plugs though.

If that is missing there will be no oil pressure, it just pumps into the pan....*EB

SH@T! I don't know if that one is in there or not... I guess I'll have to pull the pan to find out... I guess one of these days I'll learn... I even made it a point to check and double check everything as I went...

Sorry for the low quality picture, red arrow is the galley plug being referred to.

Well... I was in fact missing the oil galley plug down by the pan rail... I put one in there, and should know in a few days if that cures my problem! The oil galley plug in the back of the motor was there... It seems my oil pan was leaking back there (A lot! - Right at the corner). Now I just have to figure out how to keep that pan from leaking. I've tried the cork gasket, and I've tried just using FIPG... <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" /> Maybe the cork gasket, and a bunch of FIPG around the outside edge of the pan will fix the problem...?

Thanks to all for the help and great advice!
Ken

If the pan is still off, try flattening out the mounting flange using a block and hammer. Over-torqueing distorts the rail, pan bolts need to be torqued in a criss-cross pattern to something like 9 or 14 ft lbs. Not much.
