If you run out of gas, you might have just sucked the crud in the bottom of the tank into the filter and clogged it some, or if you roll around extremely topsy turvey rock crawling, sloshing gas sludge all over the tank, same thing maybe.
I used to keep an extra one in my GMC in case the installed one went bad, that was easier than changing it out unnessearily (sp?). Maybe I should do the same with the toyota I have now.
