I got a 2000 toyota 4runner SR5 4WD with 5speed manual transmission, I have it for 2 years now, before gas consumption wasnt really bad,i would get close to 400kms on a tank but now just a little over 300kms and i drive it the same way like before,i had it tuned up,replace the plug and had the injectors cleaned but no difference.do you guys have the same situation with your 4runners? <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" />

Winter gas is different also (depending on where you are). Gas mileage will almost always be better in the summer. I had to check on Webmath.com to get your conversions right.

According to them, 400 kilometers (km) Î 0.621 = 248.4 miles (mi). So you used to get 250 miles a tank? That's actually not that great, either. I usually get just short of 300 miles. And 300 kilometers (km) Î 0.621 = 186.3 miles (mi). If you're not even getting 200 miles a tank, there's a problem.

Make sure you don't have any exaust leaks.
Check and make sure your cat isn't clogged up.
Check / replace your air/fuel/oil filters, a good tune up would be in order.
Inspect and clean your throttle body for gunk and buildup.
Are you throwing any engine codes?

Too close for missiles, I'm switching to guns...

Wow, i guess theres really something wrong with my truck, ill try to change the air and fuel filter to see if theres any difference,i just had it diagnosed at the toyota dealershop last october cause the check engine light was on,they replace the TPS sensor and now its all good but gas was still bad.Theres no leak on the exhaust, cause i just had a new pipe and muffler installed on it,with high gas prices it leaves me no choice but to not to use it often and just drive a civic to work.nwayz thanks for the advise, hope to get more tips fom u...
