What exactly did you need for measurements?I just happen to have the shop manual in my hands and it has every measurement on the frame for bolts , mounts , brackets and where they go.

I need to know the centerline for the OE IFS.
I'm doing an SAS and want to know how far forward to bring the new axle assy.
Frame prep for SAS

Thanks again.

Here ya go , hope these help.I have a question for Jerry regarding one of these diagrams anyway

My question for you Jerry , is on the back mounts , they have the measure ments from center to center going cross ways , and center to center from the front of the frame , but I don't see anything listing how far from the frame rails center is for the holes. These are the ones on the gussets on the inside of the frame rail , that I had replaced , I need to drill the holes to put the mounts in there , but I want to get it exact so there are no probs with not being aligned when I get to the point of putting the body back on.

Speaking of the body , I couldn't get the ones out that go up into the frame , all the parts that were tacked came undone , so I will have to cut the inside of the body up a little , get those bolts out , tack in the new ones , and then put the new bolts in.Then hide the cuts in the body

HEY BARAK , MEASURE FROM THE OUTSIDE OF THE FRAME RAIL TO OUTSIDE ACROSS THE BACK END , SHOULD BE APPROX, 40.1 INCH.NOW SPLIT THAT AND MAKE A MARK ON THE FRAME REAR CROSSMEMBER SHOULD BE IN THE CENTER , FROM THIS POINT NOW MEASURE 15.15 INCHS TO EITHER SIDE AND THAT WILL GIVE YOU THE SIDE TO SIDE CENTER ON THE HOLES ,ON THE FRT TO REAR MEASUREMENT ,FIND THE CENTER OF THE FRT BODY MOUNT AND MEASURE REARWARD 153.9 INCHES AND THAT SHOULD GIVE THE CENTER TO CENTER OF THE GUSSET HOLES .. THEY HAVE A STRANGE WAY OF LISTING THE FRAME MEASUREMENTS . JERRY

Ok, thanks Jerry , that makes it so much easier HAving a reference point is a good thing.
I was going to replace the bushings in the lower a-arms , but I can't find any.I checked the auto parts stores , they list 84-86 and 92-02 trooper , 87-01 is missing It seems there is no listing for it at all , so I called the dealer , and they couldn't find any in Canada at all.I guess I'll just use whats there , will have to change the one I burnt up trying to break it free though Also , I am going to use stock grade 8 or higher bolts instead of ordering new ones through the dealer , which they also had none of for the front of the a-arm.I do have the splined part that works with the torsion bars , so thats good to go , just have to put those back on , which when I do , can you say lots of anti-sieze I figure if I load it up with anti sieze , then if I ever have to do any work on the lower a-arms again they won't be seized up so bad.

Thanks for those part numbers Jerry , they helped out. They crossover into a Moog number K9872 , which is a kit with both bushings for each control arm.So I have 2 kits coming , will be here Tuesday morning So this weekend I am cutting off the bolts on the stuck a-arms , and burning out the old bushings , then its ready to go when I get the new bushings on Tuesday. Also I am going to play around with the bumper a little more , I think I have it figured out , just need to make the brackets and put them on

Got the lower a-arms off both frames now , theres no way I could have saved any of the bushings , no matter how hard I tried. They were stuck in there pretty good.I burned most of the rubber out , but have to do some fine cleaning yet to get the rest of the little chunks out.Not a fun job

I also put the drop diff brackets on my axle shafts , so they are ready to stick back into the axle once I get the a-arms back on and the axle.It should go a lot better once I get the bushings and get the a-arms back on.

I think I got the brackets figured out for the bumper , but I am not sure how far from the back crossmember the bumper should stick out.I had allready taken the bumper off the 89 a long time ago , and the 90 never had a rear bumper , it rusted off So , I have no real measurements to go by.Can someone with a bumper , take a measure ment from the back crossmember to the bumper for me?I'm not sure how far over the crossmember the body sticks out , and don't want to make the brackets , then find out its too close , and the body won't go back on.

The body sits flush with the rear x-member.

I've got about an 1 1/2" between the the tube bumper and rear x-member and body.
Make sure you give yourself clearance to open the back doors.
I aligned the top tube with bottom of rear sill.

ok , cool , that works for.I'll make sure to leave room to open the doors:D I guess it doesn't make much difference if I have it stick out a little farther.
