HEY BARAK FIRST OFF THE FRONT CASE IS NOT HARD TO REPLACE, JUST MAKE CERTAIN ALL THE FRT DOWEL PINS ARE LINED UP CORRECTLY AND THAT THERE ARE NOT ONE IN THE ENG AND ONE IN THE CASE RUNNING INTO EACH OTHER, ALLSO BEFORE YOU PULL THOSE BELLHOUSING BOLTS UP TIGHT MAKE SURE YOU HAVE ENOUGH CLEARENCE AT THAT REAR FLANGE WHERE IT MEETS THE CROSS MEMBER , IF IT PULLED UP AGAINST THE CROSSMEMBER WHILE YOU WERE TIGHTNING THE BELLHOUSING BOLTS IT WOULD MOST CERTAINLY BREAK SOMETHING ,, JERRY

Well , things went a little smoother today after I had a chance to settle down I got the tranny lined up again and pushed all the way on , then I am redrilling some new holes in the crossmember to make sure nothing is tight when I bolt it up again. So far it looks ok , but still have a little more drilling to do.I also might have to add a little more plate , it looks like its not quite enough what I put on there , so I'll play around with some little ones and see what happens from there.
Basicaly its just putting the crossmember on , transfer case , then tighten the sucker down.I have the inspection plate on , starter back on , so think I did ok today.I thought I had all the holes drilled fine as I put the crossmember on before I put the tranny on fully , then drilled the mount holes on the crossmember to bolt it down.Maybe that wasn't the way to do it

I'm happy with what I accomplished today. The tranny , transfer case , and drive shafts are on.Need to put a couple more bolts on the shafts , then torque the tranny bolts down.Which by the way is not in the manual , I looked.Anyone know them offhand? Here are a few pics of the stuff.Next step is the fuel cell ![[Linked Image]](http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y26/shadowbarak/IMG_0702.jpg) Yes I know the drive shafts are green I have half a can of it to use up still so , where I can I use it.I still have some black too , but didn't want to do the drive shafts shiny black.

Awesome Jerry , you da man I went to find a gasket for the small pan on the tranny today , and there is nothing listed for it at all.I do have the air filter and bigger gasket , which I will change , and as for the small pan , I guess I will just use gasket maker.I took the day off today from working on the truck , so will do mor eon it tomorow , then might have to wait till monday to get some metal if what I have left doesn't work for the fuel cell mounts.

JERRY GO EASY ON THE RTV IF YOU DO HAVE TO USE THAT STUFF IS NOTORIOUS FOR GETTING OVER INSIDE THE TRANS AND IT EXPANDS QUIE A BIT WITH TRANS FLUID .

Well Jerry , I was lucky , I got the front pan down and the gasket is still ok The rear pan has one bolt that is very hard to get off due to the location , you pretty much need the trany off and the mount off , unless there is a special tool. The only way I managed it was because the drive shafts and body weren't on , so I could sneak an arm around the top of the tranny to help out with both hands. It should be fun putting it back on once I get to that.I painted the pans while I had them off , they are almost done.I figure this way they are nice and clean , and should be easy to tell where , if any leaks come from under there.

HEY BARAK HOW ABOUT ANOTHER LITTLE TIP, ,DON,T USE ONE OF THE BIG DRAG RACING LEGENDS OIL DRAIN PLUG THOSE DAM THINGS LEAK LIKE CRAZY, GO TO THE HARDWARE STORE UNLESS YOU HAVE A GOOD SUPPLY OF NUTS AND BOLTS,, FIND YOURSELF A LARGE AT LEAST 1/2 IN ID VERY FLAT NUT YOU NEED 2 OF THEM ,GET FINE THREAD IF AT ALL POSSIABLE, AND MATCHING SHORT BOLTS AND MAKE YOURSELF A COCUPLE OF DRAIN PLUGS , BE SURE AND PLACE THEM IN A SPOT ON THE PANS TO WHERE YOU CAN GET TO THEM WITH OUT HAVING TO MESS WITH THE EXHAUST, WELD THE NUTS TO THE PANS AND THEN DRILL THE HOLES THRU AND CLEAN UP THE BURRS ,BE SURE AND GET A FEW COPPER GASKET TO GO WITH THEM , NOW IT IS VERY EASY TO DRAIN THE TRNAS FOR SERVICING ,JERRY

Barak your drive shafts and stuff are looking like the stuff from my parent's '88, except that we just tore all of it out, my dad decided to rebuilt the engine at last (woohoo, here comes a Delta, new head, and 94 Amigo MAF and upper mannifold!!) needless to say it's a start in becoming the family trail pig...again.
I like the green drive shafts...doing some advertising for Dallas??

Thanks for the info on the pans Jerry , but I allreadyhave the pans back on.I'll remember that for next time I drop them to change the filter and drain it.But I should be good for a while with the new filter and stuff.I am also using synthetic , which I picked up today.I am also using synthetic in the transfer case , and next oil change will be synthetic also.
My shifters will be done sometime this week , and hopefully my fuel cell will be mounted.I picked up some metal today so I can fab the mounts for it.Theres still a few small things left to do after that for fixes , like those 2 bolts on my bumper mounts , put on some of the skid plates , make something to mount the middle bumper mount to the back frame. For that I was thinking of making a small cage that can carry a jerry can , then bolt it to the bumper and the frame.
Then I'll put the front clip and the radiator on , and get it ready to put the body back on.Still waiting for that oil filter adapter to come in so I can put that on and the header on that side.Oh , I still have to finish off the hoses from the tranny to the rad.Mostly little things left though. And I'm still trying to track down my other 7 drive shaft bolts. No idea where they went , I should have 2 sets of them , which is 32.But , I'm missing 7 from having enough for 1 set.I'm wondering if I didn't give them to the guy that bought my 2.6 engine as I handed him a bag of nuts and bolts , but those should have just been for the engine , unless I mixed up my other bag with it.Of course the hardware and auto stores don't have the small head ones so I can replace them , only the bigger heads. There is one more place I will try tomorow and see if they have some.
I was also trying to get some used stock for making some rock sliders today.I managed to get the round tube , but no one had any 2" square as thats the first stuff to go.One place I haven't tried yet , so hope they have some as new is too expensive.
