Jason,
I will probably regret even addressing this, but I will because people must understand there are always two sides to every story, and rarely are things really as one-sided as they are initially presented.
Let me first say that I am sorry you are bitter about this.
I do not intend to go tit-for-tat with you, because you are by your own admission a ôcomputer geekö and will certainly spend more time telling your side than I can telling ours.
TTR is not mine, nor is it a toy. It is a club, with a Board elected by its members. Our forum is not what TTR is about. We are not a web-based club or a forumà we are a group of people.
As far as excluding people that don't have the same mindset as our club, I don't understand what you mean. Generally, a club is a group of like-minded people.
We fully understand we were turning down your money.
As far as your future wheeling, I hope you do choose to progress and grow within this sport/hobby. In the PM you sent it you made it pretty clear that you had no intention of ever participating at all.
You wrote "I really have no desire and no interest to wheel to the extent you guys do". No problem there, lots of guys come out and camp, socialize, ride, spot, photograph, wrench, cook... whatever, but they don't wheel much at all.
You then wrote: "I really have no desire to wheel at all, anything I do will be extremely timid. This is my primary daily driver and wheeling isn't a Passion I want to pursue".
That was a sign that we definitely weren't on the same page. Because of that, primarily, along with your expressed desire to pay dues only for discounts coupled with your understandable inability to participate in person, we (The Board of Directors) agreed with your assessment and deleted your guest ID per your request.
I guess I don't know what to make of all that transpired over the weekend, but argument that erupted after you re-signed up and called everyone names (including Nazis, which was very offensive) did nothing to further your cause or help make you appear as a helpless victim.
You told me that you would tell "everyone you know", so do what you think you must. I will offer the other side of the story that needs to be told.
Again, I am sorry you are bitter about this. At the time the decision was made, The BOD only had your PM to read & discuss. It was discussed thoroughly before we decided to abide by your request and delete your ID.
I know this saga wonÆt end with this post, but I wonÆt sully this board with drama. I just hope the readers remember that there are always two sides to everything, and seldom are things as simple a they may seem at first glance.
TTR has always been and will always be about friendship and wheeling. We welcome newcomers to discover us and visit with us on the web, but as of now we have no desire to sell memberships simply to obtain discounts for goods & services or to run a large internet forum; therefore membership in our club and participation on our forum remain invitation only.
I am glad you found this forum- in my opinion it will suit your needs better than a club. Good Luck.
