Getting the Wheeling Fever
Some time ago I read a rather long posting detailing what you can do to get optimal performance out of a 22RE. It was quite informative. Unfortunately, I didn't bookmark it. It said that for optimal economy/power, put 2" pipe from the manifold (not headers) to the catalytic converter and 2 1/4+" pipe from there back.

My 22RE has 2 1/4" Jardine catback, but has stock down pipe. I'd like to take that to 2" but have only been able to find the Bosal downpipe (even local Toy dealer is selling the Bosal). Anyone know where to get a 2" downpipe from stock exhaust manifold to catalytic converter?

Also, anyone remember the above mentioned informative post? Was it here or in another forum? I thought it was here, but all of my searching has turned up nothing.

swap it out for a full length header? they can be found relatively cheap. a new downpipe cost me 90 bux so a little more for a used header would be my route.

This is my DD and last week it was -16F at our house. From the Yota engine guru's I've heard that headers are a pain in cold weather. Prefer to keep my manifold.

That was exactly it! Thanks!

Now EB, Where do I get 2" down pipes to use with the "excellent stock manifold"?

Heard from EB via email that you just have to have one fabbed at a local muffler shop.
