I've got an '87 Trooper II with the 2.3L engine. In the process of adjusting the carburetor with the engine idling, my screwdriver slipped against something on (or near) the intake manifold, sparks flew, and the engine stalled. I THINK it shorted the condenser connected to the intake manifold. When I tried to re-start the engine it wouldn't start even with starter fluid.

I tried replacing the condenser with an old one (which may or may not be any good), but the engine still didn't start. I checked the fuses and none seemed to be blown.

Does anyone know what might be shorted out that would cause it to stall and not re-start?

Thanks.
