Need a Spot
I posted the below description of some work I just did on the 91Trooper. I explored every feasible option for getting rid of the exhaust manifold and getting some headers. All options were close to or above $1,000. I looked into a oil re-locater and a starter that swivels, (thanks to this forum I learned of that option), also getting custom made headers, but it all added up to tons of cash. I would have loved to bolt up some S-10 EdelbrockÆs on there. IÆm having the manifold bored out a tiny bit and reluctantly bolting that rusty thing back on there. ItÆs a shame, but I just canÆt afford it. If anyone has any ideas for the future on ways to cost effectively get rid of the manifold, let me know. In the meantime, IÆll save up. Thanks for everyoneÆs comments & suggestions.

I have a 1991 Trooper 2.8l V6 LS I have put a hi-flow 2.5ö exhaust, a throttle body spacer, and put injectors in from a 4.3. Currently the engine is being rebuilt. Overview: three angle grind, bored out pistons, slight upgrade cam shaft w/ adjustable Edelbrock sprocket, roller (tip) rockers, bored out a few other things. IÆm also putting in a new clutch for good measure. Any suggestions about this, has anyone had luck re-mapping the ignition with a jet chip?

in the past i have sold guys the 2.8L Headmann Headers fro the 2wd S-10...the pass side is a bolt on...but hte driver's has to be re-worked to clear the starter.

I would say you should be WAY uner 1K on that.....really under 500 if you have a good local shop.

I am using the Headmans with a different starter , and an oil filter relocating kit.You can do it for way less than 1000.The starter cost me 189 , headers 239 , oil relocator kit was 79 , all in Canadian dollars.Of course its not all in the truck yet , but the headers fit great , plus I ceramic coated them , 49 for that(did it myself). <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/cheers.gif" alt="" />
