Personally, I use anything but Fram filters. Either factory or Purolator most of the time.

For oil, I usually use Mobil 1 5W-30 or 0W-30 in the winter. Sometimes I use Shell Rotella synthetic if I can find it. Of the synthetics, Syntec is the worst one that is readily available. It's not a bad oil, just almost all synthetics are better.
